A British national who was wanted by both Interpol and UK authorities for membership in a criminal organisation and alleged involvement in many drug trafficking offences was apprehended by National Police officers in Benidorm.
Officers from the Prevention and Reaction Unit of the Benidorm Police Station found the fugitive on a motorbike while conducting a check as part of the daily preventative actions conducted by the Citizen Security Brigade of the same Police Station.
When the police stopped the man on this occasion, he was moving through the streets near the city’s theme park. After verifying his identity, they learnt that he was wanted and detained for extradition by Interpol due to his involvement in a criminal organisation that traffics drugs (cocaine, heroin, cannabis, ketamine, and methamphetamine).
The 41-year-old male was turned over to the National Court’s Central Court of Instruction number six, which will handle the necessary extradition processes.
