Man offered 10,000 euros to murder his ex-partner

A man facing 13 years in prison for attempting to contract a hitman for his ex-partner. He offered up to 10,000 euros to several acquaintances.

The defendant, who had been in a relationship with the woman for six years, offered between 7,000 and 10,000 euros to at least four individuals to murder her in June 2022, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.

The defendant engaged in communication with the interlocutors via WhatsApp or Telegram, offering half of the compensation prior to the job and the remaining half following the homicide.

Today, Monday March 24th, the Alicante Court will try him for the crime of proposed murder with the aggravating circumstance of affinity. The prosecution is seeking a prison sentence of thirteen and a half years.
