National Police have launched an inquiry in Elche to shed light on the events surrounding the assault that occurred last Friday against a resident of Elche in her own house. Early in the morning, while the woman was alone, the incident happened at a family home on Calle Solars, just a short distance from the El Salvador church. About 30 minutes earlier, her husband had left for work.
A man attacked the woman after she opened her door, seemingly without asking, under circumstances that have not yet been established. This person was carrying what seemed to be a knife. Despite suffering many injuries to her neck and resisting what initially appeared to be a robbery, the woman’s cries for assistance forced the attacker to flee. As of right now, it’s unclear whether they spoke with each other again or what this person’s ultimate goal was. The man was hooded, according to her police statement.
Even though she was bleeding profusely after the incident the woman called for help. While the police were being called, a car managed to transport her to the General Hospital of Elche. It was necessary to have surgery to repair the neck injuries.
