In Alicante, two Colombian men have been arrested by National Police officers on suspicion of committing multiple counts of theft with violence.
The detainees, who are brothers-in-law, are purportedly responsible for the robberies in a coordinated manner.
They employed the well-known technique of stealing jewellery from their victims, who were primarily elderly women, by exploiting moments of distraction or vulnerability.
The stolen items, which included gold chains and medallions, were taken to shops that specialise in the acquisition of precious metals in Alicante.
The suspects are purported to have earned over 4,000 euros as a consequence of these illicit transactions.
