The last time San Bartolomé de Tirajana Avenue in Los Arenales del Sol, Elche, will have two-way traffic will be this summer, 2025.
The number of parking spaces on the avenue will increase by up to 60%, as the street will become a single road with traffic in the Santa Pola-Alicante direction after the upcoming summer period. The parking spaces that are currently linear next to the seafront promenade in the coastal area of Elche will be perpendicular.
The investment of nearly €300,000 will be required to complete the works within a one-month timeframe. The construction will cover a two-kilometre stretch of Avenida San Bartolomé de Tirajana, from the exit from the Bahía residential area to the roundabout at number 52 on the same avenue. This will not extend to the end of the road.
This action was presented at the Los Arenales del Sol District Council meeting on Tuesday, where the Elche councillors for Public Roads, Claudio Guilabert, and Districts, Raúl Sempere, were present.
